The Allentown School District is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Special Education Teachers to join our team We have immediate openings for Autistic Support and Emotional Support classrooms in our elementary schools.

About the Role:

  • Provide individualized instruction to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Emotional Disabilities (ED) in a safe and supportive environment.
  • Develop and implement effective lesson plans aligned with the PA Academic Standards and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and parents to ensure a comprehensive approach to student success.
  • Utilize data-driven instruction to monitor student progress and make adjustments to programming as needed.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that celebrates diversity.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a valid PA Teaching License in Special Education or a related field.
  • Out-of-state license holders must be willing to obtain a PA license within a designated timeframe.
  • Prior experience working with students with ASD or ED is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of instructional strategies for students with special needs.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
