Job Summary:

The IAM Okta Specialist will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the organization's Identity and Access Management solutions, with a primary focus on Okta. This role involves ensuring secure access to applications and data, integrating various systems with Okta, and maintaining compliance with security policies and regulations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Implementation:
  • Design and implement Okta solutions for Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and user lifecycle management.
  • Integrate Okta with cloud and on-premises applications, directories (e.g., Active Directory, LDAP), and other IAM tools.
  • Customize Okta workflows and configurations to meet business requirements.
  • Administration and Management:
  • Administer and manage the Okta environment, including user provisioning, deprovisioning, and access control.
  • Monitor and maintain the health and performance of the Okta platform.
  • Ensure timely updates and patches are applied to the Okta environment.
  • Security and Compliance:
  • Implement and enforce security policies and access controls in alignment with organizational policies.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits of the Okta environment.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, such as GDPR, HIPAA, and SOC 2.
  • Support and Troubleshooting:
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for IAM and Okta-related issues.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to resolve access and authentication issues.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for security incidents related to identity and access management.
  • User Training and Documentation:
  • Develop and maintain documentation for Okta configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Provide training and guidance to users and IT staff on Okta features and best practices.
  • Stay updated with the latest Okta features, best practices, and industry trends.

 

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science,
  • Experience:
  • 10+ years of experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM).
  • Proven experience with Okta administration and configuration.
  • Experience with directory services (e.g., Active Directory, LDAP).
  • Familiarity with security protocols and standards (e.g., SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect).
  • Skills:
  • Strong understanding of IAM concepts and best practices.
  • Proficiency in Okta administration, including SSO, MFA, and lifecycle management.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) is a plus.

 

Certifications:

  • Okta Certified Professional or higher certifications are highly desirable.
  • CISSP, CISM, or other relevant security certifications are a plus.
