Cook needed at our Bimini residential treatment program for individuals with substance abuse disorders (www.socialmodel.com)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Prepares varied and nutritious meals adhering to weekly menus (inventory permitting) issued by the Kitchen Supervisor.
  2. Supervises serving schedules and temperature control.
  3. Maintains inventory and coordinates with Kitchen Supervisor on requisitioning.
  4. Oversees proper storage and rotation of food items.
  5. Utilizes all food delivered to program.
  6. Supervises portion control.
  7. Cooperates with Kitchen Supervisor in maintaining an extermination schedule for kitchen and storage areas.
  8. Cooperates with Program Director and Kitchen Supervisor in special cleaning assignments.
  9. Complies with health and safety laws and regulations.
  10. Checks and reports condition of refrigeration equipment.
  11. Maintain a therapeutic relationship with residents as a member of the staff treatment team.
  12. Maintain high quality of service, ensuring that residents are treated with dignity and respect at all times.

Minimum Credential, Education, and Experience

  1. At least six months’ experience and special training in food service.
  2. Basic knowledge of nutrition and safe preparation and storage of food.
  3. ServSafe credential.
  4. High School diploma or GED.

Non-smoker preferred.
