Senior Electrical Inspector

INFOTRAN is looking for senior electrical inspectors to support Track Replacement project. The work elements may include installation electrical, electronics, electrical substations, high tension work, A/C utility service, controls and SCADA, electrical sub-panels, conduit routing, commissioning as well as other aspects of work involved in a transit agency electrical project.
You will be inspecting various facets of work at our client jobsite and performing continuous surveillance of assigned inspection activities to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and specifications, as well as ensuring construction compliance to all safety and quality procedures. You will be required to document any nonconformance and will recommend appropriate resolutions to any non-conformities. You will be required to supervise, inspect, and respond to Request for Information (RFIs), review documents and submittals for conformance to the NYCT requirements, and coordinate and follow-up with the work they are assigned to with the client and ITE team.
Responsibilities
Electrical Inspection- read and interpret plans and specifications and prepare written contract administration documentation, such as daily narratives (work reports), special inspection reports, daily time and material records, and document unit price work.is responsible for the coordination of all Project Management activities related to design, procurement, construction and closeout of the project(s)
Identify potential extra work issues and keep Resident Engineer advised of issues.
Prepare estimates of extra work. Prepare related sketches and documentation. Review plans for constructability and prepare comments.
Review contractor payment requests and recommend reasonableness to the Resident Engineer. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written. Verbal communication includes with Resident Engineer, relative peer staff and facility staff both in person and via electronic communication.
Firm knowledge of the latest National Electric Code and testing criteria for all types of electrical systems.
Experience working in restricted areas and adhering to associated protocols a plus.
Qualifications
5 to 10 years of construction experience on transit projects in inspecting construction work varied in size and complexity (multiple crews and crew sizes per shift).
BS. in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related would be a plus
Firm knowledge of the latest National Electric Code
Must have experience in High Voltage Systems
Trained in minimum OSHA 30 hour construction safety, and fall protection, confined space and permit required confined space entry.
Ability to Pass a Background Check
Valid Driver's license required.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by ITE’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
This role is subject to a client mandated drug/alcohol testing policy. As such, employee may be subject to random drug/alcohol tests.
