Alternative Paths Training School's (APTS®) mission is to provide students with the knowledge and practical skills essential for their successful integration into the community.

 

APTS® is searching for a School Nurse (LPN) . Monday through Friday 7:30am-3:30pm.

 

Individual will be working under the direction of the primary school RN. Position is responsible for performing health care services to students and staff at a small private school which is a 12-month school year. This position will require minimal travel for monthly team meetings and to assist other campuses to support the nursing team.

Throughout the school day, you will be responsible for:

  • Medication administration

  • Organize and maintain the health clinic and records

  • Performing health screenings and assessments

  • Assess student daily health needs

  • Administer emergency care / first aid treatment; provide general health counseling and teaching, conducting health-related workshops for staff

  • Provide a safe and healthy environment to maximize students’ potential to learn, and communication with families, medical, and related services regarding students’ status and health needs

  • Good communication and written skills

  • Ability to perform effectively in emergency situations.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), preferably in school, pediatric office, or public health required.

  • CPR and First Aid certification, instructor certification is preferred.

  • Experience working with kids/teens is preferred

  • Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to communicate with children, parents or guardians, staff members, and medical professionals.
