Mandeville, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Control Panel Builder / Electrical Assembler to work in a production environment, building power distribution systems, MCC’s, and other power and controls systems for the marine industry. Qualified candidates will have electrical experience, preferably from a production or manufacturing environment. You may work independently or on a team building these systems from schematics and drawings. candidates with electrical experience for

 

Essential Duties:

  • Fabrication of electrical panels including Control Panels (PLC, SMPS, HMIs, etc.), Motor Control Consoles, and Junction Boxes
  • Works from verbal instructions, wiring diagrams, manufacturing specifications, or schematic drawings.
  • Wire components on electrical panels and enclosures.
  • Assembly of enclosures will include layout back panels, wiring, labeling of wires and assembling components
  • Complete point-to-point wiring and install a wide variety of electronic and electromechanical components
  • Utilize small hand tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, and soldering irons.
  • Fabricate controls to print, including layout and physical mounting of components to the back panel, wiring of all components, and installation of control panel onto equipment.
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
  • Panel-to-panel wiring
  • Use a variety of tools or equipment, including measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment, such as oscilloscopes, ammeters, or test lamps.
  • Identify defective components and inconsistencies in drawings and alert supervisor in a timely manner so that corrective action can be taken.
  • Measures, cuts, and bends wire and conduit using measuring instruments and hand tools
  • Drills holes and pulls or push wiring through openings, using hand and power tools
  • Strips insulation from wire ends and attaches wires for subsequent soldering
  • Threads conduit ends, connect couplings, and fabricates and secures conduits support brackets, using hand tools
  • Observes all safety rules and regulations and keeps the work area clean and orderly.
  • Perform final review of wiring, termination, and control panel component installations.

 

Requirements/Skills:

  • Two years of experience in electrical or manufacturing assembly, preferred.
  • Must be able to read schematics, blueprints, and 3D assembly drawings.
  • Team player, self-motivator, problem-solver
  • Must be able to work independently yet work well with others
  • Pre-Employment Drug Screen and Background Check is Required

 

Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

  • Experience working with bus bar (Preferred) or some exposure/ understanding of its relation to these systems.
  • Knowledge of US Marine Electrical Codes and Standards
  • Soldering experience highly preferred

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time.
  • Must have manual dexterity in order to assemble products or machines as directed.
  • Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to differentiate between colored wires, tabs, and electronic components.
  • Must wear gloves, safety glasses and any other PPE as required
