This is an hourly non-exempt position in a step progression pay schedule. Eligible for pay increase every 6 months for the first 12 months of employment.

The Production Specialist must be able to work in any area of the production floor as needed (sanding, spray finishing, machining). Job duties can change from day to day. The employee is expected to be flexible and work where needed. 

Principal Duties and Accountabilities (*Essential Functions)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Operate various types of industrial machinery and hand tools
  • Load/unload parts out of machinery
  • Move racks from department to department
  • Inspect parts and adhere to strict quality standards
  • Run parts through various types of automatic and semi-automatic and manually machines
  • Operate CNC machinery
  • Assemble parts and components to stock. 
  • Gauge parts to ensure proper specifications
  • Track production output 
  • Use of various tools to include drills, orbital sander, hand sanders, air drills, spray guns, pallet jacks
  • Clean machines and perform basic housekeeping of work areas
  • Adhere to all OSHA and corporate safety rules
  • Use various glues, chemicals, solvents 
  • Change sandpaper, tools and other minor machine adjustments 
  • Spray finish and sealers on parts
  • Laser Engraving and use of Corel Draw

  • Woodworking manufacturing environment. 
  • Exposed to loud machines that produce wood dust. 
  • Work environment may be hot in the summers. 
  • Working around chemicals and solvents. 
  • Most of work is around large industrial machinery. 

Qualifications, Educational Skills and Experience To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience 

  • High School diploma or GED 
  • Preferred 1 year manufacturing experience. 
  • Woodworking experience desired
  • CNC machining experience desired
  • Laser Engraving Experience desired
  • Experience using Corel Draw computer program (educational or employment experience accepted) preferred

Language Skills 

  • Basic writing and reading skills are required.    
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret basic information such as production numbers and quality checks.   
  • Able to communicate well with supervisors, managers and other employees.  
  • Ability to read SDS, excel spreadsheets, work instructions and other basic word documents. 

Mathematical Skills 

  • Basic math skills will be required. 
  • Tracking of production output.  
  • Perform gauging and quality checks on parts.  

Reasoning Ability Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret machine standard operating procedures, safety requirements and other documents.

Other Skills and Abilities A team player. Flexible and able to jump on a new task with little resistance. Able to take instructions easily.

Other Qualifications Must have strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to implement strategic goals and directions to indirect reports and build consensus amongst various operating organizations within REMARMS.

Physical Demands Physically able to lift 50lbs and move racks of parts across the plant. Frequent standing and walking required. Some manually labor such as hand sanding or spray finishing may be required. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen to directions. Standing throughout most of shift. Frequent walking, standing, bending over and lifting may be required.
