Oceans Design Inc is a full-service aquatic design and consulting firm, based out of Colorado Springs, Colorado. We specialize in equipment and complete aquatic holding systems engineered to raise and care for a variety of aquatic animals. Our clients range from large commercial aquaculture facilities, research institutions, to public aquariums.

Job Description:

Aquatic Systems Fabricator will work in both the metal and plastic shops. Duties and tasks within the plastic shop include fabricating filtration assemblies and complete recirculating systems which may include culture tanks, pumping systems, electrical controls, and plumbing fixtures. Fabricate PVC, Acrylic, and ABS tanks from sheet stock using various solvent cements and plastic welding. Fitting up fiberglass tanks with plumbing fixtures and motorized self-cleaning arms. Water testing tanks and complete systems to assure there are no leaks in tanks, plumbing, or connections.

Many of our systems require fabricated stainless steel racks to support equipment. Metal shapes must be cut to length per drawing, welded, then in most cases sent to be powder coated.

Some of these systems require installation and periodic travel is required. Candidates must have passport and must be willing to travel to installation sites. Most installations are within the continental US but can include Hawaii, Canada, and locations throughout Mexico.

Technical Requirements:

· Experience with hand and power tools such as routers, drills, table saw, miter saw, and sanders/grinders.

· Experience cutting, deburring, and cementing PVC pipe and fittings

· Aquaculture experience not needed but a plus.

· 2+ years suitable work experience in fabrication construction or related field.

· Ability to follow CAD drawings and build assemblies to specifications

· Must be proficient with tape measure and calipers

· Must be able to effectively communicate with internal staff and partners to complete project deliverables.

· Motivated individual with the ability to work independently and with a group.

· Willingness to learn new things and working safely while adhering to all company policies and safety regulations

Physical requirements:

· Ability to lift at least 50 lbs numerous times during a given working shift.

· Ability to stand on feet for more than 4 consecutive hours.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
