Job Summary:

The Industrial Maintenance Lead is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the maintenance activities within the industrial facility. This role ensures that all machinery, equipment, and systems are operating efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry standards. The Industrial Maintenance Lead will manage a team of maintenance technicians, prioritize work orders, and develop maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision and Leadership:

    • Lead, train, and mentor a team of maintenance technicians.
    • Assign daily tasks and monitor progress to ensure timely completion of maintenance activities.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
    • Promote a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and accountability.
  • Maintenance Planning and Execution:

    • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all machinery and equipment.
    • Prioritize and manage work orders, ensuring that urgent repairs are addressed promptly.
    • Oversee the installation, repair, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
    • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues to determine the most effective repair strategies.
    • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Inventory and Budget Management:

    • Monitor and maintain an adequate inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies.
    • Work with the purchasing department to order necessary parts and equipment.
    • Assist in managing the maintenance budget by controlling costs and optimizing resources.
  • Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment history, and parts usage.
    • Prepare reports on maintenance performance, downtime, and reliability metrics.
    • Collaborate with other departments to identify and resolve maintenance-related issues.
  • Continuous Improvement:

    • Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
    • Participate in root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in industrial maintenance.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or technical certification in industrial maintenance, engineering, or a related field preferred.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
    • Extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
    • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is a plus.
  • Skills:

    • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
    • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
    • Proficient in the use of hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment.
    • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
    • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and working in industrial environments.
    • Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces as required.

Work Environment:

  • This position operates in an industrial environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures. Proper safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) are required.
