Job DescriptionJob Description

If you have a culinary instinct and love to meet new people at every event, you’ll love working at Churchill Events. We’re looking for an experienced Event Chef to join our culinary team to help create exceptional culinary experiences for our guests. The ideal candidate must be a reliable team player, have excellent attention to detail, and be capable of following the direction of our owner and culinary director for each menu to achieve a memorable event for clients and their guests.

Responsibilities:

At events you will oversee the execution of food service following the event’s timeline; hors d'oeuvres, first course, entrée, cake cutting, dessert, and late-night food for 8 to 200+ person events.

· Unload vans and set up the off-site kitchen for the event

· Prepare meals for catered events according to customer specifications

· Ensure food is prepared to the highest standard according to food safety regulations

· Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment

· Supervise kitchen staff and coordinate tasks to ensure smooth and efficient event service

· Assist in cleanup of the venue, breakdown of the event, and loading the van

Qualifications:

· Take pride in your job

· A strong visual aesthetic

· Must be reliable, detail-oriented, and have a strong work ethic

· Basic understanding of cooking and knife-handling skills

· Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures – current ServSafe (or equivalent) licensing required.

· Previous chef experience at catered events preferred; but will train the right individual

· Professional communication skills are required

· Be passionate about food, service, and events

· Be creative and have diverse plating and food presentation skills

· Ability to read and follow cooking and plating directions

· Ability to work in a team environment or independently

· Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure

· Ability to maintain a flexible schedule

· Willingness to drive a van when needed
