Position Summary:

Asphalt Specialties Company, Inc. is a Colorado family-owned corporation. We specialize in meeting individual customer needs while providing quality products and services throughout the Front Range of Colorado. We supply a full range of building materials including aggregate, asphalt and many recycled products.

The Roto Mill Laborer uses heavy power-driven milling equipment to grind off layers of asphalt from highways, roadbeds, parking lots, etc. The Roto Mill Laborer works as part of the milling crew and will be on their feet all day walking alongside the roto milling equipment performing various tasks such as grade control, shoveling, raking and occasionally using power tools and/or hand tools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • General duties associated with asphalt paving, patching, milling
  • Operation of small power tools
  • Labor duties as required; ability to shovel, rake and use other tools
  • Follow direction of Milling Superintendent regarding daily production schedule and workflow
  • Responsible for reporting equipment problems to Superintendent or shop personnel
  • Must wear required PPE and follow all safety guidelines, policies and procedures
  • Work hours adjusted to meet business needs; days, nights, weekends
  • Maintain consistent and regular attendance

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Must be able to work outside, frequently for long periods of time in all-weather types, including extreme hot and cold temperatures
  • Ability to wear PPE: Hard hat, eye and ear protection, safety vest, dust mask, etc.

Experience and Education:

  • GED/HS Diploma a plus
  • Previous experience operating equipment is required

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
