Job DescriptionJob Description

Position Summary 

The Controller will have hands on responsibility and oversight for all accounting and financial operations of the Company, including internal and external financial reporting activities. The Controller will work closely with the Executive and Leadership Team, Managers and their staff as internal customers of the Finance Team, to assist in providing useful, understandable and relevant financial information to support the profitable operations, targeted levels of financial performance and growth of the Company.

Reporting to the President of the Company, we will look to you to analyze and develop efficient financial and accounting processes to support business operations.  

Responsibilities

  • Execute eight day financial closings and issuance of monthly and yearly consolidating and consolidated financial statements in  accordance with GAAP
  • Develop and monitor monthly and annual budget and projection processes
  •  Responsible for accounting operations including regulatory/accounting rules, inventory management, and internal controls verification 
  • Develop tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the Executive and Leadership Team so that they can utilize the information to effectively run the business
  •  Establish and maintain sound financial policies, procedures, systems, and internal controls for the business
  •  Monitor and control liquidity position, cash planning and forecasting, borrowing bases and banking interfaces
  • Responsible for cash management and risk management activities
  • Develop reporting for management with relevant data, information, dashboards, metrics & incisive commentary vital to the decision-making process to affect positive change
  • Manage relationships with banks, and outside accountants
  • Develop policies and processes to ensure the controllership delivers on stakeholders’ foundational demands for accurate and timely financial information while simultaneously refocusing the function to aid in the growth equation
  • Provides analysis for capital investments, cost pricing decisions, new business/customer acquistion and contract negotiations
  •  Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants 
  • Work and interface with the Company’s independent accounting firm on all monthly, quarterly and year-end financial and tax reporting and compliance filings. This includes all tax related issues, tax filings, planning, funding, distribution estimates etc.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business. CPA or MBA is preferred
  • Progressively responsible related experience as a Controller or Accounting Manager
  • Working knowledge of GAAP
  • Strong written, verbal and collaboration skills. Ability to effectively communicate complex financial data to business leaders that can easily be translated to actionable plans
