This role is essential for preparing high-quality breakfast and lunch dishes, maintaining our kitchen equipment, and managing inventory levels. Our café is situated in the vibrant SFA building in Austin, Texas, and serves a delightful mix of American and Mexican/Latin-themed dishes to a diverse clientele including local regulars and visitors.

 

This position is a Part-Time position that can become a Full-Time position.

You will have the opportunity to earn tips as well.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare breakfast and lunch items following prescribed recipes and presentation standards.
  • Ensure the kitchen area and equipment are kept clean and orderly.
  • Maintain inventory levels and communicate needs or shortages to management promptly.
  • Follow food safety and handling procedures according to state and local regulations.
  • Assist in the development of new dishes and menu items.
  • Collaborate with the rest of the kitchen and café staff to ensure a smooth service period.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a cook in a professional kitchen.
  • Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently, especially during peak hours.
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to providing exceptional guest experiences.
  • Food Handler's Certification (or ability to obtain one prior to employment).
