Job DescriptionJob Description

Our Client has a permanent (direct-hire) position for a facilities maintenance technician in Detroit.  This is a large tier-one supplier and a very good environment to work in.   

Shift is days   OVERTIME PAID FOR OVER 40 HOURS

Job Overview: The Facilities Technician will provide expertise to continue advancement of manufacturing processes throughout the organization.

Primary Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

·        Maintain buildings and groups in excellent condition to ensure full and productive use of facilities. This includes picking and disposing of litter, lawn care and snow removal.

·        Perform carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and painting work to maintain all buildings.

·        Perform preventive maintenance, repair, and installation in connection with electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, and the exterior and interior of building.

·        Responsible for building quality control. Inspects facilities and work areas to eliminate deficiencies and improve facilities.

·        Move equipment and materials within and between facilities.

·        Appropriately operate all equipment and machinery as necessary.

·        Maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency in all maintenance and repair projects.

·        Perform preventive maintenance, repair, and installation in connection with electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systesm, and the exterior and interior of buildings.

·        Work overtime when emergencies arise in order to prevent disruption of plant operations.

·        Act as a substitute custodian when necessary.

·        Adhere to all Association health and safety policies.

·        Other duties as assigned by the maintenance manager and facilities supervisor.

 

Requirements:

   The ideal candidate will have/possess the following skills:

·        High School diploma or equivalent.

·        Experience in building and grounds operations.

·        Methods and principles of general building maintenance.

·        Principles of carpentry, plumbing, painting, and electrical work.

·        Ability to initiate and complete work orders.

·        Have a valid driver's license, be able to drive, and qualify under company insurance carrier when driving a company vehicles.
