POSITION DUTIES: The SAP/Sybase Engineer serves as the subject matter expert on all SAP/Sybase projects and is involved in each step of the product development lifecycle. This includes: Designing, developing, and installing SAP/Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE), SAP/Sybase IQ, and SAP/Sybase Replication server with RSME. Creating table level replication for Sybase ASE to Sybase ASE databases, checking for latency and verifying data integrity using Data Assurance. Resolving all technical issues and reporting on and troubleshooting bugs and bottlenecks. Working with developers to troubleshoot bugs and bottlenecks by resolving production database issues and/or making configuration modifications. Creating security features and user accessibility levels per business requirements. Carrying out SAP/Sybase ASE upgrades and/or patches when needed. Automating and monitoring database maintenance activities, writing scripts to monitor database activities and running other tests to ensure optimal performance. Documenting Standard Operating Procedures for handling all issues on the ASE database, RSME and Data Assurance components as well as Sybase Replication services, and providing training to the customer’s team on all facets of the ASE database system. Performing other SAP/Sybase ASE job duties as required to ensure the customers’ satisfaction with the delivered product and resolving any issues through the project lifecycle to the customers satisfaction.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering,  Electronics/Electrical Engineering, a closely related field and 5 years progressively  responsible post-bachelor’s  employment  experience as a Database Administrator/Consultant or related positions working with SAP/Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise.

HOURS: 40 hours/week; 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

LOCATION OF EMPLOYMENT: 200 Continental  Dr., Suite 401, Newark, DE 19713. Travel is not required but candidates must be willing to relocate to unanticipated work locations throughout the U.S. as required.
