Aegis Worldwide is partnered with a large client in the manufacturing industry looking to hire a Mold Maker/Mold Repairer This role is a contract to hire. At the end of a 6 month period, the plan is to convert to a permanent mold maker with bonus and great benefits.

Responsibilities:

Day to day responsibilities:

  • A Mold Maker will work efficiently to do daily mold tooling changeovers, cleaning, and inspection of production injection mold tooling and components. This person will also be responsible for the building, repair, and modification of new & existing molds. On top of building new molds, they will also be responsible for running preventative maintenance on their existing plastic injection molds. This person might be involved in special projects around new mold tooling manufacturing as needed within the Glendale Heights facility. This will depend on the skill level & aptitude of the candidate.

Qualifications:

Strongly Preferred:

  • 1-5+ years of prior experience in Injection Mold Manufacturing
  • Ideally someone that has done the building of new molds and repair work of existing molds.
  • 1+ years of Mold Making/Mold Repair, or Apprenticeship experience would be worth sending
  • Ability to utilize the following machinery: Wire EDM, Sinker EDM, Manual Mills, Manual Lathes, Jig Grinders, and Surface Grinders.
  • Experience with performing preventative maintenance and repairs to plastic injection molds

Pluses:

  • CAD proficiency to include manipulation of mold designs and design of inserts/components – preferably in Solidworks.
