CNC Machinist 

Company Overview:

You’ll work in an engineering, R&D and manufacturing environment providing services to industries such as aerospace, energy, manufacturing and research facilities.  This is a full time contract position which our client intends to become permanent.

Position Overview: 

Our client needs an experienced machinist to support their internal work, operating a manual mil and lathe, CAM and CNC Hurco Vertical mil. You’ll review drawings and specify material to be ordered, and working directly with engineering and manufacturing. Under the direction of a Master Machinist, you’ll build on your skills.


Brief Overview of Your Job Duties:

  • Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
  • Programs mills and lathes in G-code based languages by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
  • Sets-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices; tramming heads.
  • Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
