Job Summary

The Product Owners’ main tasks will include gathering detailed requirements, analysis, documenting processes, assigning projects to developers, and performing some user acceptance testing. To succeed in this role, you should have a natural analytical way of thinking and be able to explain difficult concepts to non-technical users.

Role and Responsibilities

To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and should demonstrate the following competencies to consistently perform the essential functions of this position. All employees are expected to adhere to and be knowledgeable of Orion180 operations standards, established security/safety rules, and requirements for attendance. The requirements listed below are representative of the fundamental knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform the job successfully:

  • Working closely with software development teams on current deliverables
  • Working with various stakeholders to gather requirements including the executive team
  • Document detailed requirements for the development team (user stories)
  • Maintain and prioritize the team’s backlog
  • Provide progress updates and demos to stakeholders and executives
  • Answer business questions that the development team may have
  • Expected to attend Product Owner training and acquire certification
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher and a minimum of five years of experience in back-end business systems (e.g. systems enhancements, testing and analyzing systems, etc.)
  • Ability to lead a scrum team working in Agile methodology
  • Experience with requirement elicitation and project documentation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for building and maintaining relationships with internal and external customers
  • Experience with project delivery, managing competing priorities, and working to solve business problems with high complexity
  • Proficient with Microsoft products and other applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, SharePoint, Azure Dev Ops, Mural, etc.)

Physical Demands
