Primary Purpose:

As a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a Certified Speech Language Pathologist, collaborating with regional instructional leaders and teachers to maximize student outcomes. You will set ambitious goals for student achievement, create a powerful learning environment, and deliver purposeful therapy to close gaps in communication and academic skills. You will provide therapeutic interventions for communication disorders, track student progress, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure academic success.

 

Minimum Education/Certification Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in communication disorders from an accredited college or university.
  • Licensure: Valid Texas license as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant granted by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of pediatric and/or school-based experience.
  • Additional Requirements: Valid driver’s license and oral and written fluency in a second language, preferably Spanish.

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Therapeutic Intervention: Provide therapeutic interventions as designated by the supervising Speech Language Pathologist in the area of communication disorders.
  • Goal Setting: Set ambitious goals for student achievement and engage students and families in achieving them.
  • Progress Tracking: Track student progress toward goals and make necessary adjustments to therapy plans.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with regional instructional leaders, teachers, and the multidisciplinary team to ensure students’ academic success.
  • Learning Environment: Create a powerful and engaging learning environment to support student learning and development.
