Position Summary

The Community Health Navigator possesses a genuine commitment to the mission of the Kingdom Global Community Development Corporation (KGCDC), which is to serve, support, and strengthen our communities. This role contributes to this mission through educating and building relationships with diverse audiences of the community in the Washington DC metropolitan area, with a primary focus on Prince George’s and Montgomery counties in MD. Empowering Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities to engage in health and wellness initiatives is core to the success of the position.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Builds relationships with key partners and constituents to identify opportunities to educate individuals and communities on health awareness, so that they are educated on the key metrics that impact their health and well-being.
  • Devises and manages action plans to host and/or facilitate events and activities which lead to community engagement and awareness of available resources to support physical and mental well-being, including but not limited to health fairs, vaccination clinics, popup events, etc.
  • Identifies opportunities to partner with organizations with missions and/or targeted programs similar to the KGCDC, including faith-based organizations, government agencies, and corporations to broaden the KGCDC’s reach to support the community.
  • Guides members of the community to wellness and testing services of strategic partners and agencies and develops strategies to increase engagement.
  • Develops relevant metrics and reports to evaluate the impact of programs and initiatives on the community and its use of those programs and initiatives.
  • Manages the communication strategy related to driving health awareness throughout the community, including social media and advertising.
  • Identifies and attends requisite trainings, conferences, etc. to stay abreast of opportunities to advance health awareness.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration or equivalent combined education and experience.
  • Experience leading large-scale events for community-based programs.
  • Experience working collaboratively with diverse internal and external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in face-paced environments.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to draw conclusions and communicate to constituents.
  • Previous experience working in a community-based non-profit environment a plus.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Bi-lingual or multi-lingual strongly preferred.

Working Environment

  • Hybrid work environment (office, community, and home); Tuesday through Saturday.
  • Alternate work schedules may be required to support Sunday activities.
