We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others and possess a diverse skill set in various counseling techniques. Looking to hire a full time Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor with addictions certification to oversee the Human Services Counseling component within the Miccosukee Health Department. The Licensed Mental Health Counselor will conduct counseling sessions with individuals for alcohol/substance abuse, mental health, behavioral health, court ordered counseling, family counseling, etc. The Counselor will also conduct prevention education classes at the Miccosukee Indian School (K-12); outreach programs & information booths at our health department events; assists with program objectives (GPRA/DM); attends/reports to off-site court, and our on-site tribal court hearings on behalf of clients; assists with crisis intervention, emergency hospitalization for detox/mental health issues, provides a monthly narrative report, attends bi-weekly PCC meetings, monthly supervisor meetings, quarterly dept. meetings.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in counseling or related field.
- Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor with addictions certification
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to provide compassionate care to clients.
Schedule: Monday through Friday; 8:30 am - 4:30 pm; On call after hours
Drug Screen and Background Check Required
Job Site: Miccosukee Indian Reservation located in the Florida Everglades; 20 Miles West of Krome Avenue on SW 8th Street.
