Job Title: Building Maintenance Apprentice

Contract: Temp to Hire

Shift: 2nd shift (12 PM to 8:30 PM)

Schedule: M-F open for weekends

Pay range: $19.00 to $22.00 or more DOE

General Description: The Building Maintenance Apprentice will assist in the maintenance of facilities, equipment, and projects at our facility. This role involves learning and supporting the upkeep of manufacturing equipment, auxiliary systems, facility grounds, and building maintenance under supervision.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities: To succeed in this role, the Trainee must be willing to learn and assist with essential duties, including:

  • The building maintenance apprentice will be supporting senior technicians in maintaining facilities and equipment.
  • Assisting in improvement initiatives and projects.
  • Learning to perform repairs and modifications under guidance and according to standards.
  • The building maintenance apprentice will be participating in preventative and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Helping organize inventory and assisting with spare parts management.
  • Following company policies, safety programs, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to safety regulations.

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Follow directions and guidance from senior technicians and management.
  • The building maintenance apprentice will contribute positively to team efforts and demonstrate a willingness to learn.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical coursework a plus).
  • The perfect building maintenance apprentice has a Basic understanding of hands-on mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Bilingual with Spanish is a plus but not required.
  • Strong willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with MS Office applications.
  • The building maintenance apprentice will have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as required.
  • Familiar with pumps, boilers, Air Compressors, and cooling systems.
  • Welding experience a plus
  • The building maintenance apprentice needs to be familiar with plumbing and minor Electrical basics
  • HVAC a plus but not required

Physical Demands & Working Conditions: The Trainee will be expected to:

  • Communicate effectively with team members and follow instructions.
  • Stand, walk, and perform physical tasks during the work shift.
  • Occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, lift, reach, pull, push, and tilt objects.
  • Use hands, speech, eyesight, and hearing effectively.
  • Lift objects up to 50 lbs and manipulate heavier containers with assistance.
  • Adapt to moderate to high noise levels and wear appropriate protective equipment.
  • Work in varied environments, potentially exposed to chemicals and allergens.
