JOB SUMMARY

Quantic BEI is seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our team as an Embedded Software Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or an individual with some basic experience to kickstart their career in the dynamic field of embedded systems development. Due to the hands-on nature of this position, work is expected to be performed on site at our facility in Maumelle, AR.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, and implement software for various embedded systems, including microcontrollers such as ARM Cortex-M and RISC-V architectures
  • Understand and utilize communication protocols and peripherals like UART, SPI, and others commonly found in embedded devices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of software components with hardware systems
  • Participate in the testing, debugging, and optimization of embedded software solutions
  • Assist with FPGA development tasks
Requirements:

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Hands-on experience with C/C++ programming for embedded systems
  • Familiarity with microcontroller architectures and communication interfaces
  • Knowledge of embedded software development tools, debugging techniques, and version control systems
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork
  • Skilled in technical writing with the ability to clearly document code, designs, and processes
  • Passion for continuous learning and staying up-to-date with emerging technologies in the embedded systems domain
  • Experience with FPGA development, particularly with Verilog is a bonus
  • Familiarity with embedded software testing frameworks and practices is a bonus

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a strong focus on embedded systems development
  • Direct hands-on experience completing embedded software solutions

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
