Job DescriptionJob Description

As a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in our primary care office, you will provide comprehensive healthcare services to patients across the lifespan, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions. You will work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough physical examinations, obtain patient histories, and assess health status to diagnose and manage health conditions.

  • Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests, such as laboratory tests, X-rays, and other imaging studies. Develop and implement treatment plans based on evidence-based guidelines.

  • Medication Management: Prescribe medications and provide patient education on medication use, side effects, and potential interactions. Monitor patient responses to medications and adjust treatment plans as necessary.

  • Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, preventive measures, and lifestyle modifications.

  • Coordination of Care: Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care. Refer patients to specialists when necessary.

  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories, treatment plans, and progress notes, in compliance with legal and ethical standards.

  • Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all regulatory requirements, clinical guidelines, and office policies. Ensure patient safety and privacy through compliance with HIPAA and other relevant regulations.

  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient care audits, and professional development opportunities to enhance the quality of care provided.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing (MSN or DNP) from an accredited institution.

  • Licensure: Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in [State].

  • Certification: National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP), or other relevant certification as per specialty.

  • Experience: Minimum of 1 years of experience in a primary care or similar clinical setting preferred.
