Job Description

As an experienced Food Expediter, you will serve as the central point of communication between the kitchen and the front of house team, orchestrating the timely delivery of food and ensuring that each dish meets our quality standards before it reaches the guest. Your exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail will be instrumental in coordinating the various components of each order and maintaining the integrity of our dining experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the flow of food orders between the kitchen and the guests, ensuring that all dishes are prepared and plated according to established recipes and presentation guidelines.

  • Communicate effectively with line cooks, food runners and servers to prioritize orders, address any discrepancies or special requests, and facilitate a seamless transition from kitchen to table.

  • Verify the accuracy and completeness of each dish before it leaves the kitchen, including garnishes, sauces, and accompaniments, to uphold quality standards and guest satisfaction.

  • Monitor ticket times and pacing of orders to maintain a steady flow of service, adjusting as needed to accommodate fluctuations in volume and ensure timely delivery of food to guests.

  • Assist in expediting special events, collaborating with the culinary and events teams to execute flawless service.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the expediting station, including checking and restocking supplies, sanitizing equipment, and adhering to food safety protocols.

  • Act as a liaison between the kitchen and front of house staff, providing support and guidance as needed to enhance communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Restaurant Food Expediter or in a similar role within a high-volume restaurant environment is required.

  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, plating standards, and culinary terminology.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.

  • Exceptional organizational abilities and attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.

  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the needs of the business.
