2nd Shift

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervision: Lead and direct A, B, and C-level technicians and lead technicians to ensure safe and efficient repair and maintenance work. Conduct daily shop meetings, oversee fleet inspections, and manage technician performance through coaching, training, and evaluations.
  • Performance Management: Monitor operational efficiency, report on performance to management, and recommend improvements. Handle hiring, terminations, and employee training in collaboration with Human Resources.
  • Quality Control: Inspect repairs to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations. Conduct quality control checks and resolve issues to maintain high standards.
  • Diagnostics and Repairs: Oversee complex repair diagnostics and provide necessary coaching. Perform road tests and maintain expertise in engine, transmission, and other vehicle systems.
  • Inventory and Budget: Manage shop inventory, ensuring parts and equipment levels are maintained within budget. Approve expenses within scope and escalate larger costs as needed.
  • Administrative Tasks: Handle payroll, employee records, and maintenance logs. Prepare budgets and set departmental goals in line with organizational targets.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • ASE Certifications:
  • T3: Drive
  • T4: Brake
  • T5: Suspension and Steering
  • ASE T2: Diesel Engine
  • ASE T Master Certified

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3 years of heavy equipment maintenance experience
  • 1 year of supervisory experience in a similar role with knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and relevant regulations.
