Job Title: On-Site Supervisor - Healthcare Construction

Project Locations: (1) Hospital - Los Angeles (1) Clinic - Commerce

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented On-Site Supervisor to oversee our healthcare construction projects (Specifically 1 project in Los Angeles and 2 others in Commerce). The ideal candidate will be our eyes and ears on the job site, ensuring all activities comply with safety regulations and infection control protocols. You will supervise subcontractors, maintain site cleanliness, manage containment areas, and communicate effectively with the project team.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Subcontractor Supervision: Oversee and coordinate the activities of subcontractors to ensure work is completed according to project specifications, timelines, and quality standards.

• Infection Control Management: Implement and monitor stringent infection control measures, including proper setup, maintenance, and refreshment of containment areas to prevent contamination.

• Site Cleanliness and Safety: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site, ensuring all areas are free of debris and hazards. Ensure the site appears undisturbed for hospital staff and patients each morning.

• Containment Area Oversight: Set up and regularly check containment areas, ensuring they are properly sealed and equipped with necessary materials such as exhaust fans and barriers.

• Daily Site Inspections: Conduct daily inspections to ensure compliance with safety protocols, project plans, and infection control measures. Address any issues promptly.

• Material Management: Monitor inventory of containment materials and other supplies, communicating needs to the project manager in a timely manner to avoid project delays.

• Plan Interpretation: Read and interpret construction plans and blueprints, ensuring all work aligns with the project’s specifications and healthcare regulations.

• Communication and Reporting: Provide clear and regular updates to the project management team, documenting progress, challenges, and any changes to the project scope.

• Security Management: Ensure all doors and access points are secured after work hours, safeguarding the site and hospital environment.

• Problem Solving: Quickly identify and resolve any on-site issues that arise, from safety concerns to logistical challenges, ensuring minimal disruption to hospital operations.

• Compliance Assurance: Ensure all activities on the job site comply with relevant healthcare construction regulations, including those from HCAI and other governing bodies.

• Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to any emergencies on the job site, including health and safety incidents, and coordinate with hospital staff as necessary.

 

Qualifications:

• Experience: 2+ years in construction supervision, preferably in healthcare.

• Education: High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Construction Management is a plus.

• Certifications: OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety required; ICC Infection Control Certification is a plus.

• Knowledge: Familiarity with healthcare construction regulations, including HCAI.

• Technical Skills: Ability to read construction plans; experience with management software is a plus (Asana/Google Sheets)

• Infection Control: Strong understanding of infection control and containment procedures.

• Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills.

• Leadership: Proven ability to lead and manage subcontractors.

• Problem-Solving: Quick and effective issue resolution.

• Detail-Oriented: High attention to safety and quality standards.

• Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

• Physical Ability: Capable of performing physical tasks on-site.

• Availability: Willingness to work evening shifts (5 PM - 1 AM) and some short weekend shifts.
