Senior Tax Manager Primary Responsibilities:

  • Direct multiple engagements and serve tax needs of varied client bases.
  • Mentor and supervise staff assuming leadership positions within the organization.
  • Head responsibility for engagement planning, organizing and delegating, goal achievements, productivity, and realization.
  • Head responsibility for tax returns issuance and ensure adherence to professional guidelines and firm policies.
  • Hold team members accountable to attain engagement goals.
  • Communicate with existing clients, colleagues, management, and IRS representatives regarding various tax matters.
  • Head responsibility for entire client relations business aspects, including collecting, billing, and maintaining team profitability.
  • Head responsibility for management, leadership, and development of complete service tax practice.
  • Lead Chicago business development efforts, including but not limited to, meeting with prospective clients, preparing fee quotes and proposals, and evaluating clients’ needs.
  • Direct department in the knowledge of software, processes, and workflows.
  • Assist with employee training for new hires and ongoing employee training.
  • Engage in consulting and special projects as requested by Management and Clients.
  • Takes direction and reports to the firm’s Managing Partner(s).

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and tax software.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client and staff relationships.

 

Education and Work Experience:

  • CPA certification required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or tax.
  • Minimum of eight years of experience in tax compliance with a public or private CPA firm.

· Experience with financial statements for public or private companies

 

Job Type: Full-time, Hybrid
