IYA Medical is a state-of-the-art Interventional Radiology Facility located in Scottsdale, Arizona. We are looking for a dynamic Scheduler to join our busy and expanding practice.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

· Utilizes the practice management scheduling system to schedule patients per the physician's protocols.

- Schedules and Reschedules patient appointments for both facilities as indicated by established guidelines and protocols.

- Demonstrates flexible and efficient time management and ability to prioritize workload.

- Monitors and fills in schedule with add-ons throughout the day.

· Reviews cases with the physician for the next day schedule.

· Communicates accurately with the physician and clinical staff regarding same or next day add-on patients, supplies, and changes in the schedule.

- Ensures that patient demographic and insurance data is complete and accurate (e.g. Patient contact phone numbers, Insurance carrier and ID#).

· Reviews the patient’s chart and confirms referrals, orders, prior authorizations and eligibility have been completed prior to the patient’s scheduled appointment.

· Performs patient eligibility checks through the practice management system upon scheduling.

- Attaches orders that have been faxed to the appropriate file.

- Schedules Blocks and releases blocks as assigned.

- Reviews orders to ensure all ordered exams are scheduled or are being scheduled.

- Call patients when requested.

· Initiates, follows-up to procedures and diagnostic studies.

· Informs patient of inaccuracies regarding insurance cards, numbers, and eligibility.

· Requests new or accurate insurance information from patients.

· Scans and saves all patient paperwork into the patient’s chart for future reference.

· Assists with answering main phone line and transfers calls accordingly.

  • Working knowledge of Medicare, AHCCCS, Workers' Compensation and other third party Insurance payors.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively, tactfully, and diplomatically with patients, families, referring physician's staff, and internal customers.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • At least 1 year of medical experience required
  • Radiology/Medical Industry, experience or related Certification a plus, but not required.
  • Prior customer service experience preferred
  • Prior medical scheduling experience preferred
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.
