Job DescriptionJob Description

As a Senior Systems Engineer your primary responsibilities are to analyze, troubleshoot, maintain, design and deploy server environments using Microsoft, HP, Cisco and VMware solutions. The Senior System Engineer will work on the most complex systems and environments that we maintain. Must design, install, and troubleshoot the latest storage area networks using Fiber and iSCSI technologies on Equallogic, Compellent and Dell EMC. Must help with other departments as needed and be willing to assist in critical situations. Must work evenings and weekends on server installs and maintenance when needed.

Advantage Technology offers a competitive salary range of $45,000 to $90,000 which reflects our commitment to attracting and retaining top talent. The final salary offered within this range will be commensurately based on the successful candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. We believe in rewarding experience and expertise, as well as recognizing the potential for growth and development within our team. Our comprehensive evaluation during the hiring process will consider your professional background, relevant skills, industry experience, and demonstrated performance in similar roles to determine the salary level that aligns with your expertise.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design, plan, establish, and optimize server environments
  • Develop server infrastructures and make recommendations on systems enhancements for optimization
  • Help sales team design new solutions for quoting purposes
  • Lead projects and work with other team members within all departments
  • Provide technical assessment of requirements and definition from conception to launch
  • Train and mentor other engineers
  • Design and validate server performance, quality and reliability
  • Use measuring and diagnostic tools to test and adjust equipment
  • Create manuals and support documentation

Requirements:

  • Associates or higher degree related to Information Technology
  • 5 years’ or more experience in datacenter technologies
  • Knowledge of security solutions preferred (VPN, Firewalls)
  • Knowledge of networking including switching, routing, IP subnets and routing protocols.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills to facilitate interactions with business clients and members of other technology teams
  • Ability to communicate, and present verbally and written
  • Experience with current networking best practices in IT standards and principles
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent technical documentation skills
  • The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Ability to carry, move and install equipment
  • Commitment to keep up-to-date with IT trends and developments
  • Valid Driver’s license in the United States, reliable transportation
  • Maintain a clean, neat professional appearance

Applicants should also be customer service oriented and have good communication skills. Working hours will be Monday through Friday, 8 AM until 5 PM with occasional after hours work needed based on current projects.
