Corporate Controller | Hybrid

We are seeking a Corporate Controller to oversee and manage the financial operations of our client in the construction space. This role involves leading accounting functions, financial reporting, and ensuring adherence to industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the monthly accounting close process to ensure accurate financial records in line with GAAP.
  • Perform analytical reviews of operating results, including customer profitability, contract negotiations, pricing, insurance, and capital investments.
  • Provide financial analyses to support strategic decision-making.
  • Assist the CFO with monthly debt compliance reporting.
  • Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Partner with the executive team to shape the organization’s overall financial strategy.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights that drive business decisions.
  • Collaborate with department heads to create annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor and analyze variances between budgeted and actual results, offering insights and recommendations.
  • Oversee cash flow and liquidity, ensuring availability of funds for daily operations and strategic initiatives.
  • Optimize working capital by managing receivables and payables levels, and recommend improvements to cash management processes.
  • Supervise collection efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, ideally within the construction industry.
  • Experience with private equity-backed companies preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, GAAP, and compliance requirements.
  • Audit experience is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in financial planning and forecasting.
  • Experience with Jonas Enterprise construction software is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
