Hours: 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mon - Thurs Four-day workweek

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Salary: $20-40 depending on experience

Job Summary: We are hiring for Substrate Preparation Technicians and Thin Film Coating Technicians.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Duties - Substrate:

• Utilizes procedures, processes, and materials to clean and prepare substrate materials for thin film coating applications at direction of supervisor.
• Performs cleaning and preparation of substrate materials with perfect precision in a timely manner to meet production schedule requirements.
• Assists in determining cause and corrective actions for non-conformities of materials.
• Assists in design, development, and documentation of complex cleaning, coating and inspection procedures in collaboration with other departments and/or colleagues.
• Assists with Corrective Action Plan/Preventative Action as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
• Follows all procedural guidelines and instructions and applies good judgement to safeguard equipment and materials.
• Documents all work and maintains daily log.
• Exhibits company values of commitment to quality and high performance.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Duties - Coating:

• Operates coating equipment for the production and development of Thin Film coatings
• Performs TecPort chamber and materials preparation, substrate cleaning and loading, and coating startup and finish
• Reviews schedules, engineering specifications, process flows, and other information to understand methods and activities
• Supports the responsibilities of accurate recording of coating data and material logs
• Monitors coating and chamber parameters to ensure the process is under control
• Remains alert to tool and chamber behavior and notifies maintenance of any equipment issues
• Interfaces with engineering for development processes
• Operates spectrophotometer, microscope, other general lab instruments

• Able to use lab equipment for precise viewing and measurement
• Able to follow cleanroom protocols
• Able to follow standard operating procedures precisely
• Excellent time management and organization skills
• Attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills
• Able to meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities
• Must be authorized to work in the United States as a “US person”

Education and Experience:

• Related technical/mechanical/laboratory experience preferred
• High School or equivalent preferred

Physical requirements:

• Positions involve sitting or standing for long periods.
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
• Requires use of laboratory equipment to handle small objects and view microscopic detail.
