Through collaboration with the ORR Unaccompanied Minor Program this agency remains committed to upholding the principles of compassion, protection, and dignity for all young individuals in its care, it strives to offer a nurturing and supportive environment where these minors can begin to rebuild their lives and pursue a sucessful future in the United States.

Position Overview Youth Care Worker:

As a Youth Care Worker, you will play a vital role in creating a supportive and caring environment for the youth under their care. Working closely with a team of dedicated professionals, you will be responsible for providing guidance, mentorship, and assistance to young individuals as they navigate through their unique circumstances. Your ability to communicate fluently in both English and Spanish will be crucial in engaging with our diverse community of youth and families.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish a trusting and supportive relationship with youth residing in our care facility.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages personal growth and development.
  • Assist in creating and implementing activities that promote educational, social, and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop individualized care plans for each youth, ensuring their progress is consistently monitored.
  • Be a role model and mentor, encouraging positive behaviors and decision-making among the youth.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of interactions, progress, and incidents involving the youth.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to improve the overall program and services offered.
  • Provide transportation support, utilizing your valid driver's license, for off-site activities and appointments as needed.

 

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Bilingual fluency in both English and Spanish is required.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • A strong passion for working with young people and making a positive impact in their lives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathize and connect with youth from diverse backgrounds.
  • Patience, understanding, and the ability to maintain composure in challenging situations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and ethical conduct.

Education:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.  An Associate’s Degree or two years of college is desirable.
