Manual Lathe/ Turret Operator 

Shift/Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00-5:00 PM

Pay Rate: $22-27/hr.

Location: Houston, TX - 77020

Experience: 2-3 years of experience preferred.

Position Summary: The Lathe Operator will calibrate and operate a manual lathe machine which is used to cut, sand, drill, and turn materials. Reading blue prints the Operator will calculate the dimensions needed for the job. The Operator will inspect their workstation to ensure the machine is in working order.

Manual Lathe/ Turret Operator Role Qualification:

  • Capable of interpreting blueprints
  • Able to do basic mill setups
  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification required
  • 2 - 3 years experience working with machines
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Manual dexterity is required for operating machinery

Manual Lathe/ Turret Operator  Primary Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate lathe to perform machining operations; turning, boring, threading, and facing
  • On metal workpieces; castings, forgings, and bar stock according to specifications
  • Read blue prints, job orders, tooling instructions, and charts
  • Operator will be responsible for the operation of machine
  • Monitor and maintain equipment and machinery
  • Perform routine inspections of equipment and machines
  • Great attention to detail with a goal-driven attitude
  • Strong comprehension and analytical abilities
  • Good computer and mathematical skills.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent certification required.
  • Comprehends and can explain the operational steps required to complete a job so that a fellow employee may understand it. Must read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must be able to stand and walk throughout the workday.
  • Frequently reach with hands and arms; use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel material.
  • Constant use of hands/fingers to grasp, pinch, pull, feel, or handle and manipulate parts and tools.
  • Must constantly wear eye protection (Industry standard safety equipment is provided by the Company, and specific notice is posted in areas where safety equipment is required).
