Compensation: $22 - $27 per hour

Position Summary: The Lathe and Turret Machine Operator will be responsible for calibrating and operating manual lathe machinery used for cutting, sanding, drilling, and shaping materials. The operator will interpret blueprints to determine the necessary dimensions for each task and will ensure that their workstation is properly maintained.
Qualifications for the Lathe and Turret Machine Operator:
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Basic skills in mill setups
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2 - 3 years of machine operation experience
- Experience in a manufacturing setting is advantageous
- Manual dexterity is essential for machinery operation
Primary Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate lathe machinery for various machining tasks including turning, boring, threading, and facing
- Work on metal components such as castings, forgings, and bar stock according to specifications
- Interpret blueprints, job orders, tooling instructions, and charts
- Oversee the operation of the machinery
- Monitor and maintain equipment functionality
- Conduct routine inspections of machinery
- Demonstrate attention to detail and a goal-oriented mindset
- Exhibit strong analytical and comprehension skills
- Possess good mathematical and computer skills
Essential Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent certification required
- Ability to explain operational steps clearly to colleagues
- Must be able to stand and walk throughout the workday
- Frequent reaching with hands and arms; manual handling of materials
- Constant use of hands/fingers for manipulation of parts and tools
- Eye protection is mandatory (safety equipment is provided by the company)
