This position is for a mid-sized, well-established law firm based in the vibrant city of Orlando. They are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Litigation Paralegal to join their team and contribute to their continued success.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a skilled Litigation Paralegal with a minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance defense, preferably with knowledge of premises or products liability. The ideal candidate will be proficient in handling a variety of legal tasks independently and have a thorough understanding of the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure. This role demands exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- E-file documents in both state and federal courts.
- Evaluate and summarize medical records and other legal documents.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Prepare subpoenas and conduct detailed legal research.
- Coordinate with and prepare expert witnesses.
- Accurately report billable time and track case production for depositions, mediations, interviews, and trials.
- Maintain familiarity with Florida Rules of Civil Procedure.
- Handle additional tasks as needed to support attorneys and the litigation team.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal, with a focus on insurance defense.
- Knowledge of premise or product liability is preferred.
- Paralegal certification or degree from an accredited institution.
- Proficiency in e-filing procedures in state and federal courts.
- Strong analytical skills for evaluating medical records and legal documents.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently manage multiple tasks.
- Familiarity with Florida Rules of Civil Procedure.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary ranging from $55,000 to $75,000, commensurate with experience.
