Job DescriptionJob Description

Essential Skills or Requirements:

? Prioritizes jobs according to the ship dates and Commitment Sheets
? Compares face ticket with purchase order for quality assurance purposes and job specifications.
? Calculates the number of boxes needed according to quality, overall size and the number of forms per wrap.
? Retrieves proper size unmade boxes from corrugated storage area, pre-assembles boxes for packing and affixes labels to each box.
? Brings the order to the machine via rolling table or pallet jack.
? Sets up machine by adjusting guides to fit product size.
? Mounts and feeds stock onto the machine. Makes necessary adjustment.
? Tests a sample for quality.
? Adds chipboards if required.
? Removes product from the machine and packs boxes with inserts to secure the contents, tapes close with a hand-help-taping gun and stacks on a pallet.
? Retains a copy of the job order for the shipping department.
? Logs production data on iPad.
? Brings finished order to the shipping department via rolling table or pallet jack for shipment.
? Performs general housekeeping duties and other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

? Must be able to interpret special instructions.
? Must possess basic reading, writing and math skills.
? Minor mechanical ability to make machine adjustments, operate pallet jack and small hand tools.


Principle Accountabilities:

? Ensures that orders are completed according to the customer’s and the company’s quality standards.
? Meets standards, goals and objectives et the shift leader.
? Responsible for protecting personal health/safety and that of others.
? Follows safety procedures outlines in the “Employee Handbook.”
? Follows all safety precautions when operating machinery and equipment.
? Wears appropriate protective clothing and hearing protection.
? Operates machinery tools and equipment solely for their intended use.

Education:

High school graduate or equivalent work experience desired.

Experience:

Previous production experience preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:

Requires walking, lifting boxes, bending, moving pallets and lifting 5-40 pounds throughout a scheduled shift (8-12 hours).

Mental and/or Visual Effort:

Attention to detail is required. Must continually check for quality and make adjustments as needed.

Responsibility for Machines, Tools and/or Equipment:

Has responsibility for the proper use and care of machines, tools and equipment. Use knife, tape gun, markers, polywrap machine, Allen wrench, pallet jack, pallets, calculators and earplugs.

Responsibility for Materials, Products, and Quality:

Has responsibility for quality. Ensures packages are wrapped tightly without holes. Ensures that the product meets specifications according to the customer’s and the company’s standards.

Instruction and Guidance:

Works independently with a partner or alone. Self-checks quality.

Responsibility for the Work of Others:

None.

Responsibility for the Safety of Theirs:

Must be aware of co-worker when adjusting the machine. Must follow safety precautions.

Contact with Others:

Interacts with others in the department.

Work Conditions:

Production environment. Requires the use of hearing protection.

Unavoidable Hazards:

None.

Other:

Must be able to complete other duties as assigned.

*****They will get either (2) 10 minute breaks or they can choose to take a 20 minute lunch break paid at Noon if they stay on the property – we have a break area near shipping. If they leave the building – then they must clock out for 30 minutes and it’s unpaid. We are a tobacco free facility so there is no smoking, vaping or tobacco of any kind on the premises.******
