Job Title:  CNC Programmer  

FLSA Status:  Hourly

Reports to:  Production Supervisor

  

Summary of Job:

This position is responsible for CNC programming, resolving programming issues and optimizing programs to gain efficiency.   The incumbent must possess excellent people skills and have advanced communication skills.  Must communicate effectively with all employee and management levels.  Must have good computer skills. 

Programs and sets up CNC milling, lathe, or other machinery according to blueprint specifications. Reads and interprets technical blueprints and design models and inputs the product design into the computer modeling software. Adjusts machine settings to the desired product specifications and troubleshoots and maintains the machine.  Tests accuracy of settings and programs.

 

Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.

Key Results & Duties:

  1. Knowledge

               a. Must possess the ability to write off-line programs.

               b. Must be able to read and comprehend CNC programs.

               c. Preplans jobs for production, which includes:

                                     i.      Producing bid times (run times for part) when needed

                                     ii.     Completing tooling sheets

 

       2. Quality System Procedures

              a. Must fully understand the Quality Management System and recognize inputs that must be accounted for in the QMS.  Technical                      expertise is required as well as documentation and adherence to standards within the QMS.

 

       3. Administrative / Training / Safety

            a. Participates in training classes and schools offered by the employer.

            b. This employee must work well as part of the team and be dedicated to the success of the whole team.

 

Basic Qualifications:

Must have experience in the following job skills:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 4 years CNC experience involving G-Code programming.  Experience with Mastercam is preferred.  Prefer Aerospace Programming experience 
  • Familiarity with military standards and specifications is preferred.
