Job Title: Electronic Tester

Location: Newburyport, MA, 01950

Pay Rate: $19.50/hour plus a 10% shift differential

Work Schedule:

  • 2nd Shift: 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm
  • 3rd Shift: 11:00 pm - 7:30 am

Job Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate test equipment to perform electrical testing of semiconductors in a fast-paced production environment, following work instructions.
  • Conduct counting and visual inspections of devices.
  • Assist with and complete engineering work orders.
  • Use basic computer skills to identify and interpret pass/fail parameters, recording and entering data into Camstar, the REI internal application for tracking production lot transactions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Fill nitrogen tanks as required.

Job Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience preferred in a related field, or general knowledge of microscopes and handling semiconductors.

Skills:

  • Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of basic hand tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, proactive, detail-oriented, and a fast learner.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently under pressure.
  • Basic math skills, and ability to read and write in English.
  • Adaptable, patient while training, and able to exercise good judgment.
  • Integrity, trustworthiness, and strong communication skills.
  • Positive attitude, with a willingness to ask questions and collaborate with others.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

  • Attention to Detail: The job requires close attention to detail for accuracy.
  • Adaptability: Work varies daily, requiring the Test Operator to be adaptable, using independent judgment to manage priorities.
  • Environment: The work environment includes loud background noise, hot and cold temperatures, and the requirement to monitor equipment and engage in conversations while working.

Sensory Requirements:

  • Vision: Ability to perform close work, including visual examination and color perception.
  • Sound: Must be able to function in an environment with background noise and monitor equipment audibly.
  • Other: Must be able to see clearly with or without glasses.

Physical Requirements:

  • Workload: Light to medium physical work, occasionally requiring the exertion of up to 50 pounds of force.
  • Movement: Frequent standing, occasional walking, twisting, and bending.
  • Hand Use: Power grasping, manipulation, pushing, and pulling with both hands.
  • Equipment Handling: Pushing machinery, possibly over 100 lbs.
  • Endurance: Job requires frequent endurance, with up to 5-6 hours of continuous work without a break.
  • Lifting: Lifting and carrying items up to 50 lbs.
