 Position Summary:

The Maintenance Mechanic plays a crucial role in supporting the production machinery and plant equipment at Free2B Foods. This position ensures the efficient operation of all machinery through installation, modification, preventive, and remedial maintenance. The ideal candidate will possess excellent mechanical and electrical skills for project development and troubleshooting repairs. We are looking for a self-motivated team player with strong communication skills and attention to detail. 


Essential Functions:

  • Adhere to team values and perform job duties accordingly.
  • Install, relocate, modify, and maintain production machinery to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, adjustment, and testing.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues.
  • Assist in installing, relocating, and modifying plant equipment.
  • Maintain plant support equipment, including plumbing, electrical systems, and materials handling equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs to roofs, walls, doors, etc.
  • Perform woodworking tasks, carpentry, electrical, and plumbing abilities involving demolition, remodeling, and construction.
  • Coordinate routine preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Obtain technical information, order replacement parts, and perform machine installation as necessary.
  • Operate company vehicles as required.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, and the noise level in the work environment can be loud.

 

Physical Demands

An employee must meet the physical demands described here to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.

  • Exerting occasionally 50 to 100 pounds of force, 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.
  • Manual dexterity is necessary.
  • Must be able to use hand jacks and motorized stocking machinery.
  • Must be able to climb stairs/ladders, bend, stoop, and push carts.
  • Must be able to reach above head level, stand on feet most of the day, and lift.
  • Must be able to travel from one building to another when necessary
  • Demonstrate self-motivation, reliability, and dependability.
  • Must possess an eye for detail and a willingness to follow directions.
  • Must possess a high degree of safety consciousness due to potential exposure hazards from chemicals and lethal voltages.

  • Must be able to read and write legibly and have good communication skills to interact with co-workers throughout the facilities.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend written work instructions.
  • Must have a tolerance to various cleaning chemicals.

  • Ability to adjust the schedule as necessary to complete essential tasks.
  • If necessary, you must be willing to work extended hours and/or weekend shifts.
  • Must think logically, use common sense, and retain critical information.
  • Ability to problem solve and determine root cause for malfunctioning equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. The hours of work are Monday through Friday. Although occasional off-hours availability is needed in case of emergencies or higher production volume needs. Must be able to work overtime as needed.

Travel is optional for this position.


Education and Previous Work Experience

  • The candidate's work history must reflect experience in maintenance positions in an industrial environment emphasizing electronics.
  • High mechanical, electrical, and electronic aptitudes are required.
  • Experience with pneumatic technology is required.
  • Experience with HVAC and/or plumbing preferred.
  • Understanding and proficiency in reading schematics, logic diagrams, and proper test equipment usage in electronic troubleshooting are required.
  • Proven ability to read basic blueprints required.
  • Proven understanding of safety regulations and knowledge of lock-out tag-out.
  • Knowledgeable in the usage and correct operation of common hand and power tools
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring tools and instruments is required.
  • Advanced mechanical knowledge and experience with industrial machinery are required.
  • Requires extensive knowledge in industrial, electrical, and electronics, including digital and analog
