Lean Kitchen is a new, exciting healthy meal prep business opening it's first Oregon location in the heart of Beaverton.  We are seeking a Kitchen Worker/Cook to join our dedicated kitchen staff You will assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals in our professional kitchen.   We are looking for someone who would like to grow in the position with the opportunity to be elevated to Kitchen Manager within the first year.   

Because of the nature of our business, all food preparation is done largely independently from the meal purchase and ordering process.   This allows for some flexibility in the hours required for this role.   The majority of the kitchen work is done Thursday through Saturday but the kitchen will also be preparing meals and bakery items during other days of the week.   This means you'll usually not be required to work evenings/nights and the work environment is fun and pretty low stress.   

There is the potential to get more hours if you are willing to help deliver meals or work in our retail store with our customers.   

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare all food using Lean Kitchen recipes and processes
  • Plan food production to coordinate with customer ordering process
  • Memorize, record, and comprehend menu items, abbreviations, plate appearance, and portions
  • Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes
  • Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and appliances
  • Monitor inventory including ordering restock

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in cooking, culinary arts, or other related fields preferred but we are willing to train
  • Some knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work well in teams
  • Positive attitude and dependability are important
  • Interest in healthy foods
  • Food Handler certification or equivalent upon hiring.
