  • Provide support in setting up simulation supplies/equipment in support of training scenarios targeted to meet identified learning objectives.
  • Operate simulation equipment, task trainers, computerized simulators, virtual reality, and other emerging technologies, and make appropriate adjustments based on participant actions or inactions.
  • Utilize approved training scenarios when available and applicable and will provide feedback on improvements through the unit’s Simulation Program Management to the PMO or designated representative.
  • Operate, maintain, and debrief simulation-related audio-video recording systems.
  • Coordinate and provide support for student logistics, and administrative support needs.
  • Create troubleshooting documents, simulator checklists, and simulation lesson plans/scenarios for simulation equipment.
  • Assist simulation sites with train-the-trainer activities and basic equipment troubleshooting for the purpose of training new simulation staff.
  • Provide oversight of all simulation encounters to include after action reports (AAR) and any identified metrics (i.e., M-coded items) of simulation training.
  • Utilize the Defense Medical Modeling & Simulation Office (DMMSO) Joint Simulation Encounter Form (JSEF) to submit all simulation encounter data to include subordinate sites.
  • Provide an orientation to simulation equipment and the training space and will provide a safety briefing to newly assigned personnel and students.
  • In coordination with MMAST POC and client PMO, assist with site visits as needed to accomplish MMAST objectives and to evaluate training effectiveness in accordance with MMAST policies and procedures. Assist sites & the PMO in defining funding and equipment requirements, based on training goals, and will work cooperatively with Program Administration and Medical Logistics in efforts to satisfy these identified requirements.
  • Perform duties as the technical trainer and resource liaison in activities Related to simulation operations. Plan, coordinate, and execute the support of designated conferences, conventions, and workshops, to include logistics, budgeting, and registration. Assist other teams as they pursue similar activities. Plan and execute actions related to marketing and public awareness of events, exhibits, and conferences such as invitations, publications announcements, letters, and printed materials. Exhibitions, booths, and presentations will be professionally executed.
  • Provide support with simulation program management duties after operations and maintenance duties are completed.
  • Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and preventative maintenance on simulation equipment to their Competence level and/or coordinate required maintenance with the local Medical Equipment Maintenance Office/Biomed Office/Property Manager and/or vendor/manufacturer.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in the medical field or military NEC, MOS, AFSC or 3+ years of experience with the operation of patient simulation equipment
  • Associates degree or technical certification in a computer technology field (e.g., hardware, networking, helpdesk, etc.)
  • Experience with various high fidelity, task trainer medical simulation training platforms (i.e., Gaumard, CAE, Laerdal, TACMED, Operative Experience, etc.
  • Paramedic equivalent medical knowledge
  • Experience and understanding of human physiologic responses and experience to anticipate participants responses to scenarios
  • Military medical experience
  • Working knowledge of the organizational functions and training requirements of the Navy Medical Treatment Facilities
  • Experience as a technical course instructor/teacher
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, computer proficiency, and the ability to work under strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of course development and education methodology for working with adult learners in a military environment
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)
