Responsibilities:

  • Prepare ingredients for menu items, including chopping, dicing, slicing, and mincing vegetables, meats, and other ingredients
  • Cook menu items to order, including proteins, vegetables, and sides
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards
  • Follow recipes and cooking techniques to ensure consistency and quality of dishes
  • Monitor food temperatures and adjust as necessary to ensure that dishes are cooked to the correct temperature
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, multitasking and prioritizing tasks as needed
  • Communicate effectively with the kitchen team and other departments to ensure seamless service
  • Restock stations and supplies as needed
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude, providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers

Prep Tasks:

  • Prepare ingredients for future use, such as chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and making sauces
  • Organize and label ingredients in the walk-in refrigerator or dry storage areas
  • Clean and sanitize equipment, utensils, and workstations as needed
  • Participate in inventory management by ordering supplies and ingredients as needed

Line Cooking Tasks:

  • Cook menu items to order, using grill, oven, sauté pan, or other cooking equipment as necessary
  • Monitor food temperatures and adjust as necessary to ensure that dishes are cooked to the correct temperature
  • Plate dishes according to presentation standards

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a commercial kitchen or related food service environment
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary training preferred

Work Environment:

  • The Back of House area is a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to heat, steam, and noise.
  • Must be able to work in a small space with limited visibility.
  • The kitchen is well-lit with good ventilation.

Work Schedule:

  • This is a full-time position with varying shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Overtime may be required during peak periods.
