40% remote role, with about 60% travel to onsite locations. The majority of business is in Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania areas, and the company will give you a car allowance, or pay for flights. 

Pay - $90k to $115k

We're currently seeking an Applications Engineer for a leading manufacturer of precision components/parts for the Northeast region. This person will play a vital role in the customization and design of all new and existing product orders from customers.

Job Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience working in a hands-on role within a manufacturing plant on production equipment.
    • Applications, Industrial, Plant, Project, Process, Maintenance, Reliability, or Mechanical Engineer related roles
  • Experience troubleshooting, ideally working on motors, gearboxes, lubricants, conveyors, or bearings.
  • Able to build relationships and have good communication with customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Spending most of the time on the plant floor, interacting with plant folks, and identifying issues with their equipment.
  • Working to improve productivity and efficiency of equipment that is already in their customers’ plants.     
  • Working hand in hand with a territory manager to be the on-site engineer figuring out the technical problems and best solutions to fix it.
  • The solutions: 70% of the time, their customers will end up going with an existing product in their portfolio but about 30% of the time, they will work with the design team to create products to the customers’ specifications.
  • When not on the road, will be following their customers’ products, and troubleshooting issues over the phone or via email.
  • Even though the role is remote, you’ll be a part of a close-knit team and have support across the country with other sales teams and other applications engineers. Also, building relationships, taking customers to lunch, a sports game etc. while also showing their value ​​​​​​
