This is a Full-Time, benefit eligible position working Monday through Friday. Hours: 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. This position is eligible for a $2,500 Sign on Bonus

Therapeutic Recreation Director responsibilities:
- Plan and implement activities for the residents in both individual and group settings.
- Encourage, support, and assist residents to help continue their individual interests and hobbies.
- Maintain an open working relationship with the resident's family/guardian.
- Observe and document activity attendance, mood, behavior, and degree of involvement.
- Transport residents safely to and from activities of their choosing.
- Train, supervise, and evaluate staff in the Activities Department.
- Communicate facility programs and organize community events with residents, staff, family and volunteers.
- Act as a positive representative of the facility at all times.
- Respond to emergencies on an on-call basis.
- Perform other related tasks as requested.
Therapeutic Recreation Director requirements:
- Degree in Recreational Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant strongly preferred.
- Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) preferred.
- Knowledge of relevant state, federal, and OSHA regulations.
- Ability to display enthusiasm and a positive attitude in promoting activities.
- Ability to manage planning of several activities and events simultaneously.
- Creative aptitude for training in arts, crafts, and games.
- Good communication skills, including ability to give directions to others in a manner that is pleasant and easily understood.
