- Encourage and foster individuals' preferred goals, hobbies and interests.
- Assist with and work to strengthen the individuals' many daily living needs, including but not limited to nutrition, hygiene, exercise, communication, and socialization skills.
- Help individuals to bathe, groom and dress, eat and drink, if necessary, always working to ' improv self-reliance
- Help set individual goals and work client progress, noting any domestic changes, reporting to superiors.
- Make phone calls and drive clients to medical appointments, meetings, events, etc.
- Ensure client have their prescribed medication and coordinate with supervisor.
- Encourage individual skill development and work towards community integration.
- Develop meaningful relationships and connections with clients to make "them feel cared for and included in the community.
- Follow all health and safety protocol.
- Help clean, tidy home for the individuals.
- Attend education courses, training and get certificates as the job requires.
- Be compassionate, patient and encouraging support professional at all times.
High school diploma/GED required.
- 2+ years' experience providing direct care to patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Valid California driver's license
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills ·
- Compassionate about the care and well-being of others
- Must have a reliable transportation.
- Clean DMV driving record.
- Valid car insurance
- Must be 18 years or older and have a clear criminal history.
Other qualification
- Valid CPR/First Aid certification (required before working with a client)
- Pro Act technique training within thirty days of hire
This is a part-time or hill-time, hourly position. Hours are flexible.
