CNC Turning Machinists for Company Wanted – Pennsylvania

Gemini Machining is a precision contract manufacturer specializing in clients who require exacting tolerances, superior customer service and consistently excellent performance.  Our clients include global leaders in the defense, aerospace, microwave, telecommunications and life sciences supply industries.

We are looking for a full-time CNC Machinist with experience in programming, setting up, and running CNC lathes. 

The successful candidate will be familiar with manufacturing components from a large variety of materials.

The specific responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

·         At least 1 year experience programming, 2 years setting up and operating CNC lathes

·         Familiar with and understanding of blueprint reading

·         Ability to follow and update existing job instruction sheets   Ability to read, understand, and follow job setup sheets and to create new job instruction sheets

·         Ability to read “G” and “M” codes

·         Ability to write CNC programs by hand or using a CAM package

·         Familiar with and able to use various inspection measuring instruments

·         Ability to verify machined attributes to print using inspection instruments

·         Able to maintain CNC equipment  

·         Ability to be on feet for extended periods of time

·         Ability to listen and follow instructions while providing feedback

·         Attention to detail, pride in workmanship

Preferred Qualifications:

1.      Problem solver, highly motivated, results-oriented, driven

2.      Mechanically inclined, able to work with hands

3.      Quick learner with a desire to increase their knowledge base

4.      Ability to read, interpret, and understand GDT

5.      Familiar with computers, accessing saved programs for upload to the CNC

6.      Minimum (1) year experience machining parts in a job shop or contract manufacturing environment

7.      Formal technical training in a manufacturing environment would be a plus

8.      Excellent interpersonal communication and listening ability

The following are considered highly desirable:

·         Ability to program turning in FeatureCAM and/or PartMaker

·         Familiar with live tooling and programming including polar milling

·         Experienced running Fanuc CNC controls and Doosan CNC Lathes

Education Required:

High school diploma, preferably with some additional formal education and experience in a manufacturing environment.

2.      The individual we seek will have excellent communication skills, sharing important information and willing to offer ideas for process improvement as they arise

3.      Willingness to help out with other responsibilities as necessary.

Core Hours:

•                    Full time

•                    Monday through Friday

•                    8:00am – 4:30pm

•                    Some flexibility is available with previous discussion and approval

Compensation: 

This position pays a base salary commensurate with experience, plus an annual performance-based compensation.
