Line Cook

Rooster & Rice is currently hiring a dedicated and motivated individual to join our back-of-house team as a Line Cook. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with food preparation, cooking, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Benefits:
Health insurance 90% paid by the company for full time employees
Tips split evenly among all staff. Estimated $10-14 an hour extra
Responsibilities:
Assist with food preparation tasks, including cutting, chopping, and marinating ingredients
Follow recipes and portion sizes accurately to ensure consistent quality
Cook rice and other food items according to established procedures
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen area, including equipment, utensils, and work surfaces
Monitor food levels and replenish supplies as needed
Assist with inventory management and stock rotation
Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Perform other duties as assigned by the kitchen manager
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation role preferred
Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must have a valid food handler's card
Must be able to lift and carry heavy objects and stand for extended periods of time
Positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow in a culinary environment
