Job Title: Production Quality Assurance Engineer

Job Summary: The Production Quality Assurance Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring that manufacturing processes and products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements. They are responsible for implementing quality control procedures, conducting inspections, and identifying areas for improvement to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  1. Quality Control:

    • Develop and implement quality control processes and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
    • Conduct regular inspections of raw materials, components, and finished products to identify defects and deviations from quality standards.
    • Collaborate with production teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
  2. Product Testing and Analysis:

    • Design and execute testing protocols to evaluate product performance, reliability, and durability.
    • Analyze test results and provide feedback to engineering and production teams for product improvement.
    • Ensure adherence to product specifications and regulatory requirements throughout the testing process.
  3. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate records of quality control activities, including inspection reports, test results, and corrective actions.
    • Generate quality assurance documentation, including quality plans, procedures, and work instructions.
    • Prepare regular reports on quality metrics, trends, and performance indicators for management review.
  4. Continuous Improvement:

    • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction through data analysis and root cause analysis.
    • Implement quality improvement initiatives, such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Total Quality Management principles.
    • Facilitate training sessions and workshops to educate production staff on quality assurance best practices and standards.
  5. Supplier Quality Management:

    • Evaluate and qualify suppliers based on their ability to meet quality requirements and specifications.
    • Monitor supplier performance and conduct supplier audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.
    • Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to resolve supplier-related quality issues and implement corrective actions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or related field. (Master's degree preferred)
  • Proven experience in quality assurance or quality control roles within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems, standards, and methodologies (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).
  • Experience with quality assurance tools and techniques, such as statistical analysis, root cause analysis, and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify issues, analyze data, and implement effective solutions.
  • Proficiency in quality assurance software and tools, including quality management systems (QMS) and statistical process control (SPC) software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
