Full-Time Assistant Controller

Here at Kings Harbor Multicare Center, we are one of the largest skilled nursing facilities in New York State. We offer our residents excellent care, including an array of nursing, rehabilitation, and subacute services. We also have a dialysis center that services our residents and those living in the community. We are looking to hire an assistant controller. This position will require the right candidate to be a self-motivated individual who is organized, has excellent communication skills, and has superb "people" skills.

This position offers the right candidate the opportunity to:

·         Work directly with the Director of Finance.

·         Work with various systems to pay vendors (accounts payable) and payroll.

·         Work with the time & attendance system that integrates with the payroll system.

·         Work on special projects.

 

Position Prerequisites:

·         Nursing Home Finance Office Experience

·         Bachelor's degree in accounting or business management or equivalent. Or…

·         Graduate of certificate program specializing in bookkeeping and business management.

·         Having critical/discernment thinking.

·         Have superb communication and people skills.

·         Ability to work independently.

·         Ability to take on special projects, including union & DOH audits.

·         Understanding and implementing 1199 union contract agreements.

·         Assist in implementing new accounting systems.

·         Working with the accounting staff to resolve issues related to the A/P and the payroll systems.

·         Assist in preparing monthly journal reports for the accountants.
